All of the sudden my corals were loosing tissue. This kept going on for days I ran multiple tests but everything showed normal. Out of desparation I took my water sample to the trusted LFS and the readings were way off.
KH was way too high, so I had to reduce my alk. additions. I was recommended to do couple big water changes to bring the Alk. down to where it needs to be.The tissue loss stopped shortly after.
Lessons learned
- When things don't seem to go right, do lots of big water changes
- When in doubt use different test kits to verify the numbers
